Spumanti D'Italia Forum reports Prosecco is the Market Leader

Rome, Dec. 27th (Adnkronos) – Prosecco is the king of Italian spumante wine and it is the most sold in Italy and by 2020 it should be the leader in the world. This emerges from an analysis carried out by the Spumanti d’Italia Forum which shows that Valdobbiadene Prosecco holds the absolute leadership in Italy and that in the last 10 years it has gained positions as one of the leading Italian spumante wines in the world. Production was over 44 million bottles in 2005 and it is one of the most important DOC spumante wines both nationally and internationally with an increased growth rate also for the non-DOC Prosecco, which exploiting the natural pleasant taste of Valdobbiadene Prosecco continues to spread in the world.
