Bibendum introduced Bisol two years ago and within six months it had been thrust onto its list of top 100 selling wines. “It’s been incredible,” says Bielack. “It has always been popular among Italian restaurants but now it’s spreading out right across the board to other venues. We’ve seen a lot of growth at gastropub level where Prosecco is seen as an accessible and competitively priced sparkling wine that matches well with food.
