The Food Lovers Charity Banquet to Fundraise for Haiti will be begin with a glass of Jeio.
On January 12th a devastating earthquake, measuring 7.0 on the Richter scale hit Haiti, displacing 300,000 homeless with an estimated death toll of more than 50,000.
Event organiser and 'Foodepedia' food writer Sabrina Ghayour, is organising a fundraising dinner with all proceeds being donated to Action Against Hunger (www.aahuk.org).
Top Chefs will unite to work side-by-side to prepare an exquisite five-course feast, paired with expertly matched wines for dinner guests. The Chefs for this special event are John Burton Race, Chris Galvin of Galvin Restaurants, Atul Kochar of Benares, Herbert Berger of 1 Lombard Street and Vickram Purewal of Le Bouchon Breton.
There will also be a raffle and an auction with some fantastic items including a wonderful weekend at Duca di Dolle, to bid on. The event hopes to raise as much as possible and as fast as possible to ensure the aid gets to where it is desperately needed, as soon as possible.

– Conegliano-Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore, The Consorzi Brunello di Montalcino, Chianti Classico and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano and have joined together to announce a new multi-year U.S. promotion entitled “The Italian Wine Masters.” Initial activities will include a series of grand tastings featuring more than 140 wine producers and master classes. A lot containing a Jeroboam Bisol has been auctioned at 250000 Dollars in Macao
International Italian Truffle Auction London - Rome - Moscow - Macao Saturday 12 December 2009
One of the lots in which a truffle was matched with a Jeroboam of Crede Bisol was sold at 250000 Dollars on the occasion of the second edition of the International Italian Truffle Auction. The event - conceived by Gisello Oberti, an realised with the support of the Italian Agricultural Ministery and Buonitalia - took place on Saturday 12 December at the Westin Excelsior in Rome, linked by satellate with three other prestigious locations: multi-starred chef Heinz Beck's London Restaurant Apsleys, the Moscow restaurant Semifreddo owned by 2 Michelin star chef Nino Graziano and the 7-star hotel The Grand Lisboa in Macao, the new gambling mecca of China.
The lot in question was bought in Macao by Stanley Ho, a chinese magnate, famous for his passion for wines. The other three prestigious lots matched with a Jeroboam Bisol were sold respectively in Macao for 5000 dollars, USA and Rome for 6000 and 3000 dollars.
This is without doubt another important confirmation that Prosecco is experiencing an international success and that the centre of international markets is moving toward the orient.
The lot was sold by Christie's and the proceeds went to charity.
