The hills, woods and meadows in the small village
of Rolle, located in the heart of the green
hills of the Prosecco doc zone in the Veneto,
just 40 minutes north of Venice,
are a small jewel of nature.
The ancient houses are the result of inhabitants
and citizens of culture who
maintained the same landscape and architecture
throughout the centuries. The village of Rolle
is made up of a few houses and only 70 inhabitants.
The nature, silence
and the green hills give an
immediate sense of relaxation and tranquility.
Rolle offers many paths for walking
and mountain biking. The meadows
and woods offer seasonal fruits and the vineyards
on the steep terrain grow grapes used to make
Prosecco.

MORE ABOUT THE RELAIS The Bisol family, producers of the
finest Prosecco of Valdobbiadene, since 1542,
has restored the historic monastery and farmhouse
in the heart of the vineyards of Rolle. Maintaining
the character and local tradition of building,
the restored property now offers 7
self-contained apartments with state of the
art Boffi kitchens, bathrooms and a warm,
contemporary, yet country style atmosphere.
The furnishings are a combination of restored
local antiques, fine wrought iron bed frames,
fine Italian bed linens and a practical inclusion
of modern lighting and responsive and individually
controlled central heating. Less than
1 hour from Venice, this is the ideal base
for a holiday in the unexplored Veneto.
This region is rich in culture and excellent
local restaurants serving traditional food,
and of course, the fine wines of the region,
including Prosecco.
Easy itineraries along the Strada del Vino,
make visiting wineries and some of the finest
examples of Palladian villas in Italy a pleasure.
RESTAURANTS IN ROLLE In this small, fascinating borgo there
are two very renown restaurants: Da Andreetta
and Locanda al Monastero, where it is possible
to taste some fine local dishes, according to
the culinary tradition of the Prosecco hills.
Seasonal products are an extremely important
ingredient in the preparation of the menus:
Mushrooms, Treviso Red Chicory, Spontaneous
Wild Herbs, Asparagus, cheese from the Pre Alps,
are just a few of the options available to the
chefs. Wonderful al fresco dining in summer
and excellent fireside dining in winter.

ZANZOTTO,
THE FAMOUS ITALIAN POET & ROLLE Speaking about Rolle we have to speak
about the poetry of the famous Italian poet,
Andrea Zanzotto, who was inspired to write many
verses on the grounds of the vineyards of the
ancient monastery and farmhouse, far from the
city noise and inspired by the clarity of nature.
A moment of his spontaneous inspiration, penciled
on the walls of the Relais Duca Di Dolle
is preserved within a frame that hangs in the
welcoming reception hall. The inscription is
framed in the traditional style by an artisan
framer maker from Bassano del Grappa.
